We are pleased to announce the launch of Devi Partners, a social impact consulting firm focused on helping organizations that do good, do even better.  Devi is the brainchild of two senior strategists, Amy Callis and Aparna Ramakrishnan.  They immediately recognized their unique synergy when working on projects together.  “It was clear early on that we brought out the best in each other,” said Amy. “Our skills and personalities were well suited for the collaborative, creative process that has become our trademark.”  It was shortly after starting to work together on projects that the idea of Devi was born.

It has never been more important for organizations to maximize their efforts and deliver value-driven results, and we can help with that.

The name Devi is Sanskrit — a feminine word that connotes excellence.  The name is a nod to the fact that both principals of this woman-owned business have ties to India.  It is Aparna’s birthplace and the place Amy lived when she developed her commitment to social justice.

Amy and Aparna bring almost 50 years combined experience across a variety of disciplines. Aparna is a trained anthropologist, social worker, and community organizer.  Amy is trained in public health, international development and human rights.  Both have formal training in economics.  According to Aparna, “one of the real strengths of this partnership is how diverse our foundation is…our backgrounds allow us to bring deep perspective to the complex issues we work on.”  

Beyond education, Amy and Aparna have a wealth of experience. Both are senior strategists and communications experts with experience in program planning and evaluation across a range of social issues from family violence and immunization to outbreaks and emergencies.  They have worked in dozens of countries from the local to national levels.  “We’re excited to share what we’ve learned with organizations working to bring about positive change,” said Amy.  The main motivation for Devi was to be able to share our experience with a broader group of social impact organizations.  Aparna agrees, “it has never been more important for organizations to maximize their efforts and deliver value-driven results, and we can help with that.”
